Slaughter
House

Thomas
Slaughter, State Senator and son-in-law of Major Richard Bibb, built this house
in 1820. It was the boyhood home of Thomas P. deGraffenried, a New York
attorney, who left Russellville one million dollars for the education of the
citizens at large therein. The small one and a half story building behind the
house was used as a school between 1887 and 1908.
