Logan County High School Campus

Russellville, KY 42276

The Logan County School Board had a groundbreaking for the new Logan County Area Technology Center September 7th on the site. Approximately 200 community leaders and students were in attendance. The Logan County High School ROTC Color Guard and Band participated.

The Russellville Area Vocational Education Center opened in 1967 with 135 students in six occupational areas – Appliance Repair, Auto Mechanics, Carpentry, Drafting, Electricity and Machine Shop.

Vocational demands have changed dramatically over the years. The Area Technology currently serves over 600 students from Logan County, Todd County and Russellville Independent school districts and offers career pathways and industrial certifications in Architectural Design, Electrical Construction, Mechanical Designer (CAD) Network Administration, Pre-Nursing and many others.

In response to shifting needs in the workplace, leaders in the Logan County community partnered to conceive of a larger, more advanced Area Technology Center. At over 68,000 square feet, the new center will provide classrooms for ten instruction programs including Health Science, Business Education, Information Technology, Drafting/Auto CAD, Automotive Technology, Electricity Technology, Welding Technology and Machine and Tool Technology.

Construction on the new Area Technology Center is expected to be completed in December 2017. The Logan County School District is eager to carry on the rich tradition of promoting career readiness and innovation.
